Andrés Finzi, PhD.
Andrés Finzi is an associate professor in the department of Microbiologie, Infectiologie et Immunologie at Université de Montréal. Dr Finzi is the holder of a Canada Research Chair on retroviral entry at the CHUM research Center (CRCHUM). He is a leader in HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein conformational changes, accessory proteins and Fc-mediated effector functions. He recently used his expertise to study humoral responses against the SARS-CoV-2 S glycoprotein. His work has important implications for the development of new therapeutic strategies to fight HIV-1 and SARS-CoV-2. The excellence of Dr Finzi’s research program has been recognized by several distinctions and awards. Since November 2020 he is a Member of The College of the Royal Society of Canada.
